2026-2027
AUDITION INFORMATION
Before signing up for an audition time, please read carefully through our information, policies and procedures
to ensure that you are prepared to commit to our show choir during the 2026-2027 session.
How auditions work:
Request an audition appointment block at www.soundchecksc.com/auditions or click this button:

The earlier you request an appointment, the better your chance of getting the time you want. Arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your appointed time. Your audition will consist of a private song audition followed by a group dance audition. You will be free to leave after your dance audition. Your entire appointment may run anywhere from 20-45 minutes.

We reserve the right to reschedule your audition appointment time if there are not enough performers to fill the block. Additional time blocks may be added if all of the spots are filled.

What to prepare for your audition:
VOCAL AUDITION:
-
Prepare a 1-minute excerpt from a song to sing for us. The song should be memorized. Pick a song that best suits your vocal range.
-
The song can be from any genre, but pop or musical theatre is preferred.
-
We do not recommend singing a cappella for your audition. We prefer that you come prepared with a backing track (with NO vocals on the track!).

DANCE AUDITION:
-
You do not need to prepare anything for the dance audition. We will teach you a short dance routine. You do not necessarily need dance experience to be in Sound Check. However, we are looking for coordination, balance, rhythm & the ability to catch on quickly to the choreography.

What to bring:
-
Four copies of a recent picture of yourself. It does not need to be a professional headshot. The pictures can be printed on paper as long as we can clearly see your face.
-
A flash drive with your vocal backing track on it or a YouTube link to your preferred backing track. YouTube backing track links can be emailed to soundcheckshowchoir@yahoo.com or texted to 937-974-7887 along with your child's name. If you need any help or guidance, please feel free to reach out to us.
-
Please make sure that you are dressed in dance/exercise clothes that are not baggy. Wear shoes that are comfortable and easy to dance in - jazz shoes, sneakers, etc. (no flipflops, sandals or open-toed shoes).
